The majestic & magical Muir Woods is just a short drive from San Francisco. This ancient redwood forest feels like another world - quiet, magnificent, and full of wonder. It’s one of my favorite spots for an engagement session experience. And for couples who value natural beauty, emotional storytelling, and artful editorial imagery, a Muir Woods engagement session offers the perfect blend of intimacy and grandeur.

Planning Your Session: Reservations, Parking & Practical Details

Because Muir Woods is a National Monument, a few logistics are required in advance.

• Reservations are mandatory for both parking and shuttle access - especially during peak seasons. I’ll help guide you through the simple reservation process to make sure our session runs smoothly.
• There’s no cell service inside the park, so I always coordinate precise meeting points and timing beforehand.
• Parking is limited, but with a reserved time slot (which I’ll help you secure), we’ll ensure seamless access to the grove.

Want to turn your shoot into a full experience? I often suggest my couples book a weekday morning slot, when the park is quieter and the light softly filters through the canopy. For couples flying in, I’m happy to coordinate luxury transportation or recommend nearby stays in Mill Valley or Sausalito to make it a full romantic getaway. Due to how busy the park gets on weekends, I do not offer weekend sessions here to ensure that every client gets the best experience & photos possible.
